Fishermen’s tour

Centro Pavarotti and the fishermen of San Lucas have invented a tour for visitors. The tour takes 2 hours and starts with an explanation about the organization, the way and how to fish, the different kind of fish, problems of the lake and the daily working day of a fisherman. After this theoretical explanation a tourist and a fisherman board a “cayuco” (traditional fishing boat) and the fisherman teaches the tourist how to handle a “cayuco”. In a relaxed atmosphere you make a tour through Lake Atitlan. At the end of the tour you can enjoy a swim in the marvelous Lake Atitlan.

The fishermen´s organization consists of 68 fishermen. The distribution of the land at the shores of the lake, the sustainability, the cleaning of the lake and the control of waste and naturally the task of providing  the population with fish is managed by this organization.
